Brainstorm

You have a concept for a custom piece. We have a uniquely skilled design team to develop your idea and bring it to life! Before we arrive at your home,  gather all the necessary details you would like to include in your vision. After you schedule the initial consultation you will have instant access to your own portal with a link to download your inspiration photos. During your consultation within a few moments our project manager will put together a rough design. Watch your project come to life. 

Bring Your Vision to Life

After your complimentary consultation, your vision is transformed into precise, detailed mock-ups. The project manager will create a 3D rendering of what the final project will look like. 3D renderings will be emailed directly to the email used in the portal until all changes have been made. Then a final rendering will be uploaded to the portal. Estimates are not created until the rendering is finalized. Final results are exact replicas of the rendering.

At this stage, you'll either approve or edit the design to your liking. Once we find the perfect fit, you will approve the design in the email from the project manager. The final rendering will be uploaded directly to your personal online portal. Estimates are not created until the rendering is finalized

Does your custom piece fit your budget?

Once you approve the final design, you'll receive an upfront cost to create your masterpiece. 


Half Down

Once you approve the quote, you'll receive an invoice that requires a non refundable 50% deposit. Our skilled craftsman can't wait to get to work on your project, so the sooner you pay the invoice, the sooner your project is placed into the production line. We understand your mind may change, so we require any modifications that need to be made to the project to be communicated within 60 days of approving the estimate.


Paint, Stains and Hardware

You'll select paint and/or stains within 30 days of paying the 50% deposit. To choose your color, you'll visit www.sherwin-williams.com to select from a variety of colors that fit your style. Need help? Schedule a design consultation at our facility. We will help you pick the best fit for your project. Granite, quartz and butcher block countertops samples are available at our location. If you would like to add hardware to your project please purchase and have it ready on the day of installation. We install provided hardware on our custom project at no additional cost.

Frequently Axed Questions

  • Does Shivers use 100% real wood?

    Yes, we use 100% real wood in every one of our products! Keep in mind, that because we use real wood, you may see natural imperfections on the surface, like wood grain. One of our expert designer will be able to discuss all these details with you before your project begins. 

  • What is the difference between real wood and engineered wood?

    Wood might be the most varied — and versatile— material when it comes to furniture and cabinetry, but not all timber creations are the same. Some pieces are constructed out of solid wood, crafted using pure slabs of lumber directly from the source. While others are made of engineered, or artificial, wood: a composite material formed to make plywood, veneers, and fiberboards. 

  • What type of paint does Shivers use?

    Our customers can choose from an endless supply of paint swatch options from our industry-leading paint supplier, Sherwin Williams. We use commercial grade paint, which is exclusively offered to our clients and not available to the public.

  • Can you match a paint color?

    Absolutely! In order to do this, we'll need a physical piece from the paint sample we’re matching. This is the best way to get the closest match! We can get very close but not all paint matches are an exact match. Unknown variables and techniques determine the color match. 

  • What type of wood do you use?

    We mostly use poplar and birch wood - two of the most high-quality woods out there.

  • What is included as standard versus an upgrade?

    Soft-close hinges and drawers come standard in all projects. Glass shelves, pull-out drawers and lighting are considered upgrades.


  • How can I get samples?

    Stop by our facility and we can further assist you. 


  • How do specialty projects work?

    Anyone else spend their evenings scrolling through TikTok or Instagram and suddenly feel the urge to redo their entire kitchen? We get it. We encourage you to share your inspiration with us during your consultation and we will work with you to create a custom piece that matches your asthetic. That dream kitchen isn't as far off as you think it is. 

  • How do I prep my space for installation?

    We want to disrupt your space as little as possible. We suggest you begin to prep your space one day before installation. Remove anything on the walls, clear furniture and create a clean  space for us to work our magic. We park our truck and trailer in the street, so please make sure the front of your house is cleared of vehicles prior to arrival. 

  • Where is my project built?

    We craft your masterpiece in our local shop. When it's time for installation, we arrive at your home and install your product within one day. Rest assured, our team vacuums, sweeps  and tidies the space before we leave the property.

    For your safety, we recommend you try and stay away from the installation space and only allow staff in the installation area.


  • Can my new piece transfer to a new residence?

    Your project is a custom built, permanent piece built just for your space that builds equity in your home. We do not recommend attempting to remove a piece from your residence.
